About Momumental

Momumental Physical Therapy & Performance specializes in treating women through every stage of pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Whether you’re navigating a new symptom, preparing for delivery, recovering after a C-section or vaginal birth, or managing long-standing issues, I take a whole-body, movement-based approach to help you feel, and live better. Your treatment won’t stop at basic kegels or core exercises — I’ll address the way you move, lift, train, and live, because motherhood is an athletic endeavor in itself.

Get to Know Me

Dr. Alyssa Rives, PT, DPT, CSCS, Cert. DN

Hi! I’m Alyssa, founder of Momumental Physical Therapy & Performance. I’m an American Ninja Warrior, CrossFitter, former competitive gymnast, and passionate women’s health physical therapist.

As a mom of two, I bring both personal and professional experience to my work. I know firsthand the physical, emotional, and identity shifts that come with pregnancy and postpartum — and I’m here to help women feel strong, confident, and at home in their bodies again.

Professionally, I bring over four years of experience in outpatient orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, and pelvic health. I’ve completed specialized training in pelvic function through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, as well as advanced coursework in rehabilitation of the pregnant and postpartum athlete. In addition, I hold certifications in dry needling and blood flow restriction training, and I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Because motherhood is monumental — you deserve to feel strong, resilient, and unstoppable.

Do you feel a bulging sensation, heaviness, or a downward pressure in your pelvis?

Feeling stretched thin between naps, feedings, and your own health — and struggling to find the time for yourself?

Are you pregnant with your first and looking to prepare your body for a smoother, more confident birth?

Struggling with new back or neck pain from all the lifting, bending, and carrying that comes with motherhood?

Finding it difficulty to keep up with your kids at the park because of nagging aches and pains?

Hoping the pain during intimacy would improve after childbirth, but it hasn’t?

Do you avoid jumping on the trampoline — or other activities — because of leaks?

Are you 5 or even 10 years postpartum and still experiencing issues that never fully went away?

If any of these feel familiar, you’re in the right place — and I’m here to help!

The Momumental 3-Step Framework

  1. Restore

I’ll start by identifying and addressing the root cause of pain or dysfunction. This phase focuses on reconnecting to your core and pelvic floor, improving mobility, and restoring trust in your body — the foundation for everything that comes next.

Goals: relieve pain, improve posture and breathing mechanics, restore optimal core and pelvic floor function

  2. Rebuild

Once your foundation is restored, we will gradually rebuild strength, fitness, and endurance to meet the demands of daily life — and beyond. From lifting your baby to returning to your favorite workouts, this phase helps you move with confidence and resilience.

Goals: regain functional strength, improve stability and endurance, move without fear

  3. Rise

With your foundation restored and strength rebuilt, now it’s time to rise. We’ll elevate your training, refine your movement, and unleash your potential — to be the mom-athlete you were meant to be. Whether you’re a Crossfitter, runner, or simply want to feel your best, we’ll help you crush your goals.

Goals: optimize performance, prevent injury, and embrace lifelong strength and confidence

Why Choose Momumental?

  1. Expert Care, Backed by Experience

I bring years of experience in orthopedics, women’s health, and sports rehabilitation — but beyond these credentials, I’m a mom and athlete. I’ve been through the challenges of postpartum recovery and I understand what it feels like to lose a piece of yourself in motherhood. I deeply value the importance of women embracing their strength and providing an example for the next generation.

  2. Flexible Care that Meets You Where You Are

Life with kids is busy — so I offer both in-home mobile services and in-office sessions. Whether you prefer the convenience of care in your home or the structure of an office setting, you’ll receive on-on-one physical therapy or personal training without the stress of rushed appointments or juggling childcare.

  3. The Freedom of a Cash-Based Model

Because I operate outside of insurance, I work for you, not the system. With cash-based care, you’ll get dedicated one-on-one sessions, treatment tailored to your specific goals rather than what’s “approved,” and you’ll be provided a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

  4. Programs Designed for Moms

Everything we do is built around the physical demands of motherhood — lifting, feeding, carrying, chasing, and training. Whether you’re in early postpartum recovery, building strength, or chasing athletic goals, your sessions are always practical and personalized.

  5. A Little Extra for New Moms

Every new mom receives a complimentary New Mama Reset Session — a 30-minute manual therapy treatment during your second visit, focused on releasing tension in the neck, shoulders, and upper back from all that baby-holding, rocking, and feeding.
